Be careful about the "both sides" argument. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. The main thing between democracy and authoritarianism is honest, well researched media. There is a massive difference between for example CNN, NBC, ABC having a slightly progressive democratic editorial tilt, versus Fox and other right wing outlets who create their own facts and try to make their viewers angry and fascist.
