Excellent article. I live in S. Carolina, where Republican leadership seems to have little interest in forcing utilities to move toward renewable energy. I really like the idea of community solar, and industrial scale solar farms as opposed to rooftop solar panels. However, I think mini-community solar (and or wind) can also be a great idea. For example, when a new development is built with (for example) 200 homes, require the developer to use a certain amount of land adjacent to the new homes to put in a small solar farm to provide enough power for the 200 homes.
