Humans were given exactly one inheritance of fossil fuels. We are in the process of using that up. Be as creative and resourceful as you can possibly be, but there is not now, and will never be another inheritance of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are our entire economy and civilization. Without them . . . well, good luck to all. If you really want to know what is about to happen, refer to the MIT model called "World 3". The very best we can do is to try to soften the landing in order to preserve some level of knowledge, technology and orderly governance. Unfortunately, with Republicans in state and federal offices, that will never happen. With heads buried in the sand, their answer is to drill baby drill and strip mine national parks. If you feel helpless, there is only one thing you can really do --- vote for Dems up and down the ballot.
