I often try to discuss these topics with other old folks. When I speak to them about the Great Transition from Fossil Fuels to Electricity, the need for logical transition plans, and the right mix of incentives and regulatory mandates to effect societal change, I am on an island of one.

a) They don't accept human induced climate change

b). They don't believe that cheap and plentiful fossil fuels will ever go away

c). They have a mystical belief that somebody will think of something or find something that will solve the problem (if indeed a problem exists)

d). They say they will never drive an EV, and they will not convert to an electric stove, etc.

e). They don't support the building of wind farms or solar farms

f) They do not want "big government" to force any of this upon them

This transition actually presents such a great opportunity to our civilizations to rebuild the right way, with much cleaner and more efficient energy use. However, this requires functional, intelligent and logical governments which can make strategic plans and implement them over decades.

So good luck to the world ---- this is going to be very difficult.
