I really don't know where to begin. You really did no homework before you wrote this article. Fossil fuels will be gone one way or another. Either we phase them out quickly to help save the planet with an intelligent plan, or oil and gas will simply run out in 50-100 years without a plan. We have plenty of energy at our fingertips using solar, wind, and nuclear. These energy sources, and other smaller ones, will power our homes, our factories and our electric cars. Now that is only step one in the difficult journey to sustainability. But there are no other options.
You may want to begin with the excellent book by Tom Murphy, "Energy and Human Ambition for a Finite Planet". It is free on line.
