Nice list of recommendations at the end. Things can always get better. However, my experience has been much different than yours. I have about a hundred and seventy LED bulbs (all different kinds and configurations) in my home. After living here for seven years, I have had to replace two bulbs. In addition to being very long lasting, the reduction of waste heat, the massive energy savings, and the flexibility (dimming, different wavelengths, etc) are great reasons to fall in love with LEDs. They are a tremendous improvement over incandescent lights, and I agree that incandescent bulbs should be phased out as quickly as possible.
