Well, it is true that globally we still have about 110 years of coal available at current rates of consumption (mostly lower grades as we used up all of the anthracite coal). But even the worst of the deniers realize that coal is a non-starter. Coal use will continue to decline and phase out. Already the US is at a point where coal comprises only about 10% of our total energy needs. I would recommend against investing in any coal businesses! The remaining coal should be saved for future generations of humans (if we survive) so that they have easy access to carbon for chemical uses (not fuel).
